Day 1 - Located on beautiful Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, Grove, Oklahoma, held at Snider's Camp and in the Grove Civic Center. Executive Director Kathleen Pixley says, "Being on Grand Lake itself is worth the trip, and with added sharing and learning for all string instruments, in a safe setting, what's not to like? This is a great opportunity to learn to play your favorite instrument from qualified instructors. And it's fun for all!" All CDC guidelines are met at the Civic Center and throughout the weekend, with temperatures taken at the Civic Center door, free masks available, social distancing implemented for a safe and secure environment. Because of social distancing, all participants must have a basic knowledge of how to hold their instrument, and minimum age this year is 7. For those living at a distance, Zoom classes are offered for lessons on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, spoons, bones, and djembe drums, including group jam sessions. Families of participants are welcome at no charge. Register online at www.grandlakefestivals.com or by calling 918-786-8896

Friday, Sept. 4, the Festival opens with a kickoff party at Snider's Camp, with entertainment by World Champion Bones Player, Barry Patton of Winfield KS, Festival Fiddlers, Contraband, Jana Jae & Friends, a 30 Minute Band Contest, open stage, and lots of jamming and optional barbecue dinner for $10/plate. Meet old and new friends and practice up for a great weekend of enjoyable learning and playing. Saturday evening is also lakeside at Snider's Camp with chef Dr. John's fish fry dinner, entertainment by Instructors, Contraband, Barry Patton, Jana Jae & Friends, stage performance groups and solos for Amazing Amateur Night, and much more. Spectators are invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy these lakeside evenings of entertainment free of charge.

Sept 5 and 6, the Grove Civic Center is cool and spacious, the place for the workshops and master classes. All levels age 7 and up can register if they have a working basic knowledge of how to hold their instrument. It's an inspiring weekend filled with tips for better playing and help with individual questions. Participants may camp at Snider's RV park for reduced rate of $12 or stay in a local motel. Participants will take home new tunes and fresh ideas for their improved playing. Check out details, schedules, and register online at www.grandlakefestivals.com
