The bass fishing has been great on Grand lately! I have seen water temperature as high as 83 degrees. The fish have still been pretty shallow and they can be caught in many ways right now.
White bass are really biting. I have been catching a lot of big whites on crankbaits. They can be caught several different ways but if they will bite a crankbait I wont be caught throwing anything else.
I had a great bass trip this past week. We found fish schooling on a flat and it was a blast. Throwing weightless senkos we were able to catch 7 fish in the first 7 casts with 4 of those fish weighing 4lbs. We caught 18 out of that school in a short amount of time.
Until the majority of the bass head out to deeper water many lures will be able to catch them. I have been using a lot of different techniques. Crankbaits, shaky heads and weightless senkos have been best when it's calm. Spinnerbaits and bladed jigs have been working in the wind.
As I'm writing this it is raining like crazy. Hopefully, I get to pull out the flippin' stick again this week!
