Oklahoma has three new lake records--two from Lake Keystone and one from Eufaula.
Charles Wilson of Terlton, OK caught the monster, not the Halloween monster type, but a huge 98 lb. paddlefish/spoonbill. His fish was caught in March, but it took a while to certify the fish as a record for Keystone. The fish measured 71.50 inches long, and a girth of 38 inches. He says he was using a Shakespeare Ugly Stick rod and Abu Garcia casting reel. The fish was caught by the railroad bridge near Feyodi Creek.
Can you imagine how long it took Wilson to land this fish?
Sterling P. Bougher of Mannford, OK caught and released a 6.9 lb. largemouth bass, a new lake record for Keystone. His fish was caught Sept. 7. The fish measured 22.50 inches long and had a girth of 17 inches.
At Eufaula a 4.6 lb. spotted bass snatched up a Green Pumpkin Smoking Rooster soft plastic lure tossed out by Shane Fields of McAlester, OK. The fish measure 19 inches long. Fields says he caught the fish off the riprap by the 9A bridge close to Longtown.
Congratulations to all three of these anglers on their catches!
