One of the best times of the year to visit Grand Lake OK is during the Pelican Festival. The Grand Lake area celebrates the migration of the American White Pelican. There are plenty of activities taking place during this Grand Lake Oklahoma event.
Children enjoy seeing parades, participating in activities at Har-Ber Village (free admission on September 27), and eating from a variety of food vendors. Arts and crafts are also part of the celebration during the Pelican Festival at Grand Lake of the Cherokees.
Adults enjoy seeing the pelicans, visiting attractions, doing local shopping, and dining out during the occasion. Grand Lake Ok is a wonderful site to see during this time; boats gliding in the waters sharing the marvel with the pelicans. Pelicans are visible in the waters, along the shorelines, as well as gliding through the air.
Visiting Grand Lake Ok during the Pelican Festival is a great fun filled time for family and friends. For 2014, the event is scheduled for September 26th and 27th. This year, the event will include the First Annual Grand Lake Pelican Festival Bass Extravaganza! Come and enjoy the celebration!
