What a mild winter so far on the beautiful shores of Grand Lake. Lake level is back to normal winter elevation @ 742.07. Water temperatures have increased to around 45-47 degrees due to warm past temperatures.
Spoonbill fish as been good overall with large fish being caught from mid-lake to up the rivers. We have noticed a great spawn the past two years as we are seeing large numbers of juvenile spoonbill this year. If your looking for a great hook for snagging, grab a box of Spoonbill King Hooks as we use this great made sharp hook daily.
Catfishing has been fair to good. Days after a cold front has soften the bite. We have been using small cut shad with the Team Catfish Super J Hook for this soft bite. We are targeting fish from 12-38 ft of water as the shad is moving around on the north end of the lake. This is a great time of year to load up the freezer for that spring fish fry.
Crappie is really good in docks around the lake. Great reports coming in lake wide as the crappie have been around 25 ft of water. The nice warm days they have moved up to 8-12ft of water.
2 1/2 Go Go minnows are some of our favorites as water up lake is a bit stained.
Don't forget to grab some 1 Step Marinated for some great tasting fish and meats!
