Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees lies in northeast Oklahoma as a sapphire jewel that attracts visitors from miles around to play in its 45,600 acres of water with 1,300 miles of shoreline. Grand Lake State Parks
Seven state park areas surround Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees: Bernice Area, Cherokee Area, Disney Area, Honey Creek Area, Little Blue Area, Spavinaw Area, and Twin Bridges Area. You can book reservations for tent and RV sites online.
Bernice Area State Park

The Bernice Area lies in the northwestern corner of Grand Lake of the Cherokees in the town of Bernice. This park is called the “Crappie Capital of the World,” even though this lake is best known for productive bass fishing. The Bernice Area features 88 acres with tent and RV camping,
The Bernice Area features a mile-long, ADA accessible, paved path that winds along the shore of Grand Lake, and takes you past a wildlife feeding area and onto two wildlife viewing areas with a blind and tower. The Bernice Nature Center offers a variety of family activities, with a naturalist programs that include hikes and crafts and feeding the park’s animals every Saturday.
Campsites offer views of the lake, swimming areas, playgrounds, and boat ramps. There are 33, 50-amp, RV sites, and 150 primitive tent sites. Park amenities also include two comfort stations with hot showers, picnic areas, and one covered shelter for large groups.
Cherokee Area State Park

The Cherokee Area is divided into four smaller parks located near the dam and around the lake and Neosho River below the dam: Lakeside, Riverside, Grand View and Grand Cherokee.
The Lakeside area is above the dam with a stunning view of the lake, 12 RV sites, and 15 tent sites with a swimming beach, playground, picnic sites, a restroom with a shower, and lighted boat ramp.
The Riverside area is located below the dam and offers exceptional fishing. Amenities include a boat ramp, 15 pull-through RV sites with five on the water bank and hookups, 50 tent sites, pit toilettes, and showers at the Grand Cherokee Campground.
The Grand View area is below the dam just off highway 28 next to the spillway. Amenities include four RV sites with electric service only and 45 tent sites, a group shelter, a comfort station, picnic tables, and a shelter.
The Grand Cherokee area is below the dam with 13 RV sites with full hookups including 50 amp electric. A few RV sites are pull-through. Amenities include a swimming beach, lighted boat ramp, picnic sites, a group shelter, and restroom with showers next to a nine-hole golf course along the river.
Disney Area State Park

This park is called Disney Island with 32 acres of hills and forests on the southern shore of Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. Follow OK SH 28 into the park. Disney Island offers a swim beach, lighted boat ramp, a waterfall, floating on the stream, and herds of deer roaming around. It is day use only with plenty of picnic tables.
Honey Creek Area State Park

Honey Creek area offers boating, camping, and fishing. It is 38 acres of 49 RV sites and 100 tent sites featuring a boat ramp, restrooms with showers, 30 and 50-amp RV sites, a dump station, picnic tables with fire pits, an outdoor swimming pool, two covered shelters, a fishing dock, a fish cleaning station, a lighted boat ramp, and a play ground. Honey Creek is known as one of the best parks on Grand Lake.
Little Blue Area State Park

The Little Blue Area is heavily forested and near the dam. It offers a creek with cool water and a swimming area, tent camping, and lots of parking. This is a smaller park for day use and primitive camping, but no boat ramp.
Spavinaw Area State Park

The Spavinaw area is on the south end of the lake below the dam. It also offers a clear cool stream to swim in, tent camping, picnic tables, and plenty of shade trees for day use, but no boat ramp.
Twin Bridges Area State Park

Twin Bridges area is jam packed with 60 RV sites,100 tent sites, a marina, and plenty of amenities. You must make a reservation for RV sites and cabins. The park offers five, one-room lake huts with electricity, ceiling fans, heat, screened windows, its own picnic table and grill, and outside water.
Twin Bridges features a fishing center, lighted boat ramps, picnic areas, playgrounds, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and restrooms. This park is well-known to anglers for trophy-sized bass, bluegill, catfish, and paddlefish. A fishing center provides bait, tackle, snacks, beverages, an enclosed fishing dock, and lighted boat ramps to both the lake and the Neosho River.

Cedar Oak RV Park

Cedar Oaks is a 37-acre, full-service RV park with 123 sites, lakefront and lake view, full 30 and 50-amp hookups. Each site comes with a grassy area, a patio, a picnic table, and most have at least one tree for shade.
Three one-room cabins come with a double bed, futon, private bath, kitchen sink, small refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave. Other amenities include a nine-slip boat dock, a boat ramp, a covered pavilion with a charcoal grill, a bathhouse which is open during season, and laundry facilities.

Wildwood Cove sits on Drowning Creek, an inlet of Grand Lake. Wildwood Cove has 41 RV sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric service with water, sewer, and septic service. It features five restored 1939 stone-faced cabins with air-conditioning, full kitchens, stove and oven, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, barbecue grills, bedding, and towels. Two large cabins sleep up to ten people, and three small cabins sleep up to four people.
