Grand Lake of the Cherokees, nestled in Northeast Oklahoma, is located in the foothills of Ozark Mountain Range. The view of the Grand Lake OK is spectacular and a wonderful place to visit. The Pensacola Dam construction process became a vision concretely established. In 1940, the dam was completed and the lake was sustained behind it. During war time, the government took control of the construction to divert power for war. In 1946, control of the lake was given back to the GRDA.
